Subject: [Ipmitool-devel] ipmitool and IPV6
Does anyone know if ipmitool plans on supporting IPV6 in the near future?
[Liebig, Holger] The required 'formal' changes to support IPv4 and Ipv6 in the
source should not be that much.
I realize that there are no IPMI commands to configure or query IPV6
parameters, but I would like to be able to establish RMCP and RMCP+ sessions
across IPV6.
[Liebig, Holger] Regular commands should be no problem, only session
information will be incorrect (truncated by the defines of the IPMI spec) or
oem specific (non standard data).
Thanks.

[Liebig, Holger] It would be interesting to know if Intel as maintainer of the
IPMI Spec. listens to internal requests regarding standardizing IPMI and IPv6
since more and more vendors are coming out with proprietary IPv6
implementations in order to support customer demands.
