You don't really create and delete users in IPMI. You configure user slots. So disabling the user is basically equivalent to deleting it.

Hi list,

I am having some trouble figuring out how to delete users via ipmitool (or whether it's even possible). After looking over the ipmi spec, I wasn't able to find anything that references user deletion and ipmitool has nothing about this either. Does this functionality vary from manufacturer to manufacturer? If using the specific manufacturers web UI, user deletion works without problems (and 'ipmitool user list 1' shows this to be true too).

My current test environments are on a Tyan 7002 and Supermicro 5015A.

Any hints/ideas/thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
