Binbin,

Those are standard IPMI functions, it is not an issue with ipmitool.
The chassis power reset is a warm reset, so power is maintained
throughout. The chassis power off will take the hard disk offline,
that's expected, but the power on should start it up again. If the
power on does not bring the hard disks back on again, then contact
whoever supports your platform.

Subject: [Ipmitool-devel] Anyone who can tell me difference between
ipmitool power off && power on and power reset?

Hi

I recently find that server's hard disk offline while restart by
"ipmitool power off" && "ipmitool power on", but it is OK when I run
"ipmitool power reset".
Could anyone tell me the reason? or Tell me which code execute this
function in ipmi tool?

I just know that "ipmi_chassis_power_control" function in file
"ipmi_chassis.c", but I have no idea how to excute it. Could anyone tell
me ? thank you.

Binbin
