Hello,

I am hoping the list is still monitored and someone might be able to assist
me. I recently purchased a used 2U Intel Rr2000 server and ran into an
issue when attempting to update its bios. After a bit of research I found
the following on Intel's website.

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000058730/server-products/server-boards.html

This knowledge base article describes the issue I am running into and it
advised me to download the latest ipmitool. After downloading the tool and
running configure when I then run make I it errors out with the following.
Unfortunately I am now getting a little further beyond what I am familiar
with and am not able to decipher what it's getting hung on.

/bin/bash ../libtool --silent --tag=CC --mode=link gcc -g -O2 -Wall
-Wextra -std=gnu99 -pedantic -Wformat -Wformat-nonliteral -o ipmitool
ipmitool.o ipmishell.o ../lib/libipmitool.la plugins/libintf.la
/usr/bin/ld:
../lib/.libs/libipmitool.a(ipmi_hpmfwupg.o):/home/tlons/Downloads/ipmitool-1.8.18/lib/../include/ipmitool/ipmi_hpmfwupg.h:803:
multiple definition of `gVersionInfo';
ipmitool.o:/home/tlons/Downloads/ipmitool-1.8.18/src/../include/ipmitool/ipmi_hpmfwupg.h:803:
first defined here
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status
make[3]: *** [Makefile:536: ipmitool] Error 1
make[3]: Leaving directory '/home/tlons/Downloads/ipmitool-1.8.18/src'
make[2]: *** [Makefile:582: all-recursive] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory '/home/tlons/Downloads/ipmitool-1.8.18/src'
make[1]: *** [Makefile:457: all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory '/home/tlons/Downloads/ipmitool-1.8.18'
make: *** [Makefile:388: all] Error 2

I am hoping someone might be able to give me a bit of direction to at least
get the ipmitool working so I can then attempt to make the needed changes
to the BCM on the board.

Thanks in advance to anyone who is able to assist.

-Tony
