Hi,

The drafts draft-ietf-ipsecme-ikev2-diet-esp-extension [2] and draft-ietf-ipsecme-diet-esp [1] have been submitted with minor updates. We were utilizing the acronym 'cda', which could lead to confusion with the CDA acronym employed by SCHC. Consequently, we have replaced 'cda' with 'action'. Additionally, we have reduced the dependency on draft-mglt-ipsecme-dscp-np [3], which is now aiming for an experimental status.

We believe the documents are prepared to advance to the IESG.

Yours,
Daniel

Hi,

Please find below the modifications pertaining to the most recent update of the drafts. The changes in -diet-esp were made following a discussion with the SCHC WG in Madrid. These primarily involved clarifications. The updates in ikev2-diet-esp-extension align with the terminology changes. We are confident that the documents are now prepared to be forwarded to the IESG.

In my view, the sole remaining issue that may require resolution is the reference to draft-mglt-ipsecme-dscp-np. We believe it would be beneficial to maintain it as a distinct draft, and we are receptive to suggestions on how it could be published.

Hello SCHC-ers

We have submitted an updated version of Diet-ESP (and the ikev2 extension) that incorporates the suggestions made by SCHC members during the IETF in Madrid. To summarize the changes:

 *
Attributes for Rules Generation was changed to Attributes for
    Rules Derivation
 *
Figure with Diet-ESP integration in the ESP/IPv6 stack was
    introduce earlier in the document
 *
Added a new figure to explain the pre/post processing of packets
to comply with byte and block-alignment of ESP
 *
Presented the functions to calculate MSB based on IP ranges
    instead of IP prefixes.
 *
    Various editorial fixes.

If you have comments on this new version, please let us know. We can also participate in the interim meetings to present this work.

Regards,
Sandra Céspedes
