When you click the Force Update button the server puts a timestamp on the
server in this key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Ipswitch\Messenger Server\Settings\Client Update
Timestamp

When the client attempts to login it compares it's timestamp located in
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Ipswitch\Messenger\Version 1.0\Settings\Client
Update Timestamp

If the clients timestamp does not match the server's then the client will
pop a message asking the user to update their client

If they are the same then the client will login normally

2 Things you can do from this point

1. You can set the Client Update Timestamp on the server back to 0 and all
users will login but will not get the update message and will still be using
the old client. Then send out an email asking all your users to download a
copy of the client

2. You can fill out the Client Update URL/Path in the server manager, enter
either a URL for a web site http://intranet/imclient101.exe or you can enter
a path for a mapped drive that all of your clients may have
m:\imclient101.exe
