Subject: [IpswitchIM_Forum] Fail to connect with WMI

I have a problem in configuring an alert on Whatsup Professional 2006.

When I try to connect to HPFNODEB (or its alias HPFSTORE) in Active Monitor
Library, New NT Service Monitor, Browse for Service I get "Failed to connect
to device. Access is denied.

I have tried several accounts that are in the local administrators group for
HPFNODEB and that are members fo the Domain Administrators group. I checked
that WMI is running and SMTP is configured on HPFNODEB. I looked at all of
the Local Security settings and they are the same as HPFNODEA which allows
me to browse their services. I also tried using the IP address and it fails.

Both of these Servers run Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition, Service
Pack 1. They are clustered with the cluster name of HPFCLUSTER. HPFNODEA is
both the cluster and database group. HPFNODEB is the Storage group.

These are the IP addresses:

HPFCLUSTER 10.10.8.112

HPFSTORE 10.10.8.114

HPFNODEA 10.10.8.110

HPFNODEB 10.10.8.113

HPFNODEA binds both 10.10.8.112, 10.10.8.111 and 10.10.8.110 (public
connection).

HPFNODEB binds both 10.10.8.114 and 10.10.8.113 (public connection).

When I remote into HPFSTORE I get HPFNODEB.

When I remote into HPFCLUSTER I get HPFNODEA.

What can I do to get to these Services to configure my Active Monitor
Library entry?

Sincerely,

Donald Keller
