Yeah, I think it seems to be a unique local example which makes it exceptional, so maybe don't bother with the RFCs.

It's just that it's something I can't fix in the host driver so I fix it
in the router's driver, and the overall is non-RFC.

If other people haven't run into this problem maybe it's not worth
dealing with it in the RFC.
