All,
This draft is a result of the IESG review of
draft-ietf-ipv6-over-ppp-v2-02.txt. The implementation reports received
for moving IPv6-over-PPP to Draft Standard did not indicate support for
the compression negotiation. Therefore, that function was removed from
the base IPv6-over-PPP spec into its own draft. The ppp specification
will continue in the IESG for publication as a Draft Standard. The
chairs will be starting an IPv6 WG Last Call on the compression
negotiation draft for publishing it as a Proposed Standard.

Regards,
Brian
