I think it is, and it certainly is if you make that "fifteen years ago"
when DHCP(v4) was operationally young and the IPv6 design did not
assume the existence of DHCPv6.

There will, I'm sure, be many scenarios in the future where SLAAC is
just fine; but it's time for DHCPv6 to be a first-class citizen.
