Hello All:
We submitted a revision of efficient-nd (02) version to incorporate the comments after last IETF . * Added a new field for Transaction ID in the Address registration message * Updated the local mobility and NCE handling sections to address the effect of TID field in multi-router/transit link scenario * Added more text for ND-Proxy behavior * Added implications for RPL * Separated the use cases in the Appendix Some more editorial work will be performed in the next revision in addition to any technical changes. Thanks, -Samita, Erik and Pascal Filename: draft-chakrabarti-nordmark-6man-efficient-nd Revision: 02 Title: Efficiency aware IPv6 Neighbor Discovery Optimizations Creation date: 2013-07-15 Group: Individual Submission Number of pages: 31 URL: http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-chakrabarti-nordmark-6man-efficient-nd-02.txt Status: http://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-chakrabarti-nordmark-6man-efficient-nd Htmlized: http://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-chakrabarti-nordmark-6man-efficient-nd-02 Diff: http://www.ietf.org/rfcdiff?url2=draft-chakrabarti-nordmark-6man-efficient-nd-02 Abstract: IPv6 Neighbor Discovery (RFC 4861) protocol has been designed for neighbor's address resolution, unreachability detection, address autoconfiguration, router advertisement and solicitation. With the progress of Internet adoption on various industries including home, wireless, M2M and cellular networks there is a desire for optimizing the legacy IPv6 Neighbor Discovery protocol. This document describes a method of optimization by reducing multicast messages and introducing an IPv6 address Registration mechanism. Efficient IPv6 Neighbor Discovery protocol is useful for energy-efficient and low- power IPv6 networks and as well as Data Center and Home Networks. The solution is capable of handling existing legacy IPv6 nodes in the network with local mobility.
