Hello everybody, I´m doing some measurements in order to optimize the Handover delay for MIPv6.
I´m using a notebook (as a mobile Node) with a W-Lan interface and trying to do a Handover from the first wireless network (Homenet placed on the HomeAgent) to a Foreign Network (visitnet1 placed on a second Computer: CoreRouter). I´m making measurements of the router Discovery Procedure. That means beginning at the Moment the MN already finished connecting to the new Wlan Network (on Layer 2) and starts looking for a router in the network (by sending the first Router solicitation message) I used wireshark to trace the traffic generated on both sides, and as we see here, some of the packets send by the CoreRouter (fe80::216:6fff:fe1d:b521) don´t arrive at the Mobile Node. All the machines are in the same room, that means no problems with signal level (always higher than 70 %) Any Idea?
