Dear All,
I am struggling for a long time with this wireless
card.
I am running redhat RHEL 4, with 2.6.9 EL kernel.
I have installed and re-installed the driver from
ipw2200.sf.net. Many commands like iwconfig eth1 see
the card,
i.e. say that eth1 is present.
But it cannot just find the access point! It (ifup
eth1)
always comes with the: Check cable, no link present...
I tried the dhclient command, it does not find any
DHCP offers.
The mac address for the card as seen by the probe is
the same
as the one I see in windows XP.
Please can anyone tell what could be wrong.
I tried upgrading my kernel to 2.6.22 using redhat
up2date, but
when I tried to boot using the upgraded kernel it
went to kernel panic.... So that door is closed!
