  i've seen that the vmxnet3 driver was added last January.

Like all other drivers it does use polling and disables interrupts.

The problem is that while on a physical machine polling continuously
at boot time doesn't take resources away from anyone else, on a
virtual machine sitting on a host that is oversubscribed w.r.t. CPU,
polling will take resources away from the other VMs sitting on the
same host.

Do you think it would be possible to have some sort of mitigation for this?
