Also, which version of iPXE are you using. A problem related to TCP
window sizes on lossy links was fixed in June 2015:
http://git.ipxe.org/ipxe.git/commitdiff/c117b25
and current iPXE will never reduce the TCP window size.
Also I will be thankfull for some tips regarding performance
improvment .
Best tip: use the latest version of iPXE.
