I think a thousand mile HD reception on AM would probably be as hard as an analog reception of three or four times the distance. To this day, the best AM DX I've had on HD is about a minute of WOR-710 at sunset, and occasional blips more like FM meteor scatter. HDDX...hmmm...Trademark it!
