Many years ago, the entire LAX TIS operated with leaky coax. I remember listening to it on rental car radios in the mid 80's. The signal was good while you drove along the main street (I forget which one, but it was probably one that Mike mentioned). The signal was fine as long as you drove along that street. If you drove more than a block down a side street, the signal disappeared (as would be expected with Radiax cable).
