As I watch the U.S. Thanksgiving day football games...

I am reminded that the NFL was widely criticized for playing a full
schedule of games on Sunday, Nov. 24th.  Pete Rozelle justified it by
claiming that the Kennedy family wanted the games to go on.

Does anyone know or remember, if the NBA and NHL cancelled their games on
the weekend following the assassination?  Of course, back in those days it
was still the heyday of the Original Six NHL, and there couldn't have been
more than 10 or 12 NBA teams back then, so there weren't too many games to
re-schedule.
