As I watch the U.S. Thanksgiving day football games... I am reminded that the NFL was widely criticized for playing a full schedule of games on Sunday, Nov. 24th. Pete Rozelle justified it by claiming that the Kennedy family wanted the games to go on.
Does anyone know or remember, if the NBA and NHL cancelled their games on the weekend following the assassination? Of course, back in those days it was still the heyday of the Original Six NHL, and there couldn't have been more than 10 or 12 NBA teams back then, so there weren't too many games to re-schedule. 73 Mike Brooker Toronto, ON _______________________________________________ IRCA mailing list [email protected] http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: [email protected]
