the temp matches Toronto -- could it be the all-news station there?

I doubt it was CBC overnight -- they do not do local programming at the
half-hour, only on top of the hour.

Another thought is Winnipeg CJOB

Finally, CHFA is French . . .

so my guess is Toronto or Winterpeg . . .
