Since my dimmer switch and those of my next door neighbor were reeking havoc with my reception, I settled, after much investigation and input from many sources, on the Lutron 600 series switch, which was advertised by CCrane as follows: >We finally found a dimmer switch that doesn't interfere with AM radio!
>All other dimmer switches leak so much energy in the radio frequency band >that radio reception anywhere near the switch is severely >affected. Thanks >to the Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) suppression of this new dimmer >switch, you can dim your lights without getting >that annoying radio-noise >hum. Ivory color. Cover plate included. So I purchased one from Crane and two from my local electric supply house (the Crane was TWICE as expensive as the others) and had my electrician install them. Well .... SURPRISE, SURPRISE! they did absolutely NOTHING to reduce the RFI. I guess I shouldn't be surprised as we are daily being hosed by big business and Government, but it just seems to add insult to injury when it affects our hobbies.
