Greetings Colin, I can attest to the Eton E1 "kicking it". I used my E1 at Grayland last September. I felt that it held it's own against the table top super sets used by the rest of the crew. I think it's the best portable I've owned. I just wish the radio was equipped with an internal ferrite bar, preferably one of the GE Superadio I & II length. I own two 2010s and two ICF-S5Ws.
