Better re-check their website: to buy a licensed copy of Goldwave will cost you $50 Canadian (about $45 US they say). They do have a free demo.
A highly regarded totally free recording & editing package that's simple to use is Audacity which you can find at http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ .
