Misto Kashkettdragger,

Good to see you spending a little time at the dials. I think I see
your situation clearly: same ole' BCB every day and night, ho-hum.
Yawn.

Getting back from VOA Delano in 2001 and just in time to go into
chemotherapy and radiation therapy for cancer, I somehow forgot all
about the BCB. Imagine that.

[Incidentally, I lost absolutely no hair during chemotherapy. In fact,
the only effects chemo had on me was to cause me to experience nausea
three days after my first session. That was all.]

Came up 2006 and the prospect of hearing the same-ole same-ole. I had
an R8B and a malfunctioning R-390A, an old Space Maggot SM-II, and a
rebuilt 65-foot longwire. But what for?

I decided to start all over again. Like I'd not ever DXed the BCB
before.

All things being equal, it's not exactly like starting over: I already
know most of the tricks, and already knew what I'd likely hear. But
it DID break down the barrier that made me question the whole enter-
prise as a waste of time.

I DO want to break into DXing HFBC. I never really got into that.

73,

Chollie
