I am not surprised that there are corporate forces at work eager to end conventional "distant" or "open" broadcast listening as soon as possible. Working in tech at a local University I often hear the same songs: Hard-drives will be abolished within 2 years! No more VHS tapes for sale within 1 year! No more tape based camcorders within 6 monthes! Most of the people talking haven't a clue of that which they speak... but like I said.. I work at a University...
