Which is why I told him not to touch the metal ends. And, it is a 1kw station. I used that exact technique for decades rather than a flashlight to read the base ammeter. You notice I said *next* to the tower, not *on* the tower. No way I'd tell him to do something dangerous. After 37 years doing this, I think I have it figured out. The only way he'd achieve "crispy critter" status is if he put himself across the base insulator with handcuffs.
