Not a replacement for intelligence? Better tell that to the many posters on the broadcasting industry e-lists. When you convince them they are not intelligent, then could you explain why they would care about a few DX'ers using the same acronym?
What I think you have proved is that one person didn't understand an acronym. Not a bit more. I'll grant you some people who care to discuss IBOC won't know what IBAC means, but is that a problem? Dunno what professionals you speak of, but there are 2 people on this list who have professional engineering involvement in IBOC technology: Barry and (formerly) me. Since you can claim to know us, you're down to "the professionals you know" minus 2.
