I made that trip once, back in 1968. Flew from Long Beach in an Otter, landing on the almost vertical air strip on the side (or so it looked) of the mountain. Flew back in a seaplane. Quite an experience, as was the trip down the mountainside in the local shuttle car. Don Kaskey S.F.
