Patrick -- Yes -- moving all AM daytimers over to a new FM band along with any
fulltime station -- using under 1 KW fulltime will work. WHY ?? Tell the
group who owns your stations. It's a small group --- but like most small
groups -- the bottom line and need is for cash. Large amounts of cash. If a
station -- like 1600 in St Helens was to increase to a fulltime C1 -- it would
be a Portland area station. The minimum value would be about 3 + Million --
just as an un-built CP. About 30 times it's present value. Why would
anyone downgrade a C1 FM in Astoria ?? CASH. Big Cash. Because stations
can now move to other areas or towns. If you owned a 500 watt fulltime AM
station -- on 570 khz -- non-directional -- and you could trade up to a class
C or C1 FM station -- which would you pick?? How many stations does New
Northwest own ??
