Maria, Ah, now I make the connection. And so I extend my most sincere and heartfelt condolences to you. Anyone who's a friend of Don and Eloise is going to be sitting at the Man's (that term is Scriptural) right hand! Part of my genealogy says that my distant G-g-g-grandfather and G-g-g- grandmother immigrated from Holland as Jeff and Lida Taylor (Lida, it's said, was Taylor before marriage). I suspect they may have been Tayloe. My maiden name is Schafer, you may say. In fact you may say anything about me at all, ha. My mom's maiden name is Schafer, and comes from s.w. Indiana where there was a heavy settling of German immigrants. Heavy proportion of German family names. Too bad you are not one of our lady radio enthusiasts, or you could step into the club and start all over again in Bob's (and your) name. But few women do, as I have read that the female brain does not work well to decode voices in the presence of noise as one hears on a radio when "DXing." My own little bride of 34 years, a Filipina, from a different cul- tural milieu, seems to agree with that. Sees no rationale in the hobby, although SHE's the one who is the sports and 'rasslin' fan in this house. Thank you for stepping in and making it all clearer, the dynamic of what was occurring here!
