Chuck, You are right. The ground conductivity is poor along the coast, but it is great in the direction of the West with the ocean. Maybe that is why, the stations to the East do not QRM as much here, plus the mountains. I added a new 10 foot copper pipe for the receiver ground today. I don't think it made much difference though. I posted the e mail a bit ago.
