The telephone company uses dessicant in cable connections without any
trouble.  Somewhere in the basement I have the remainder of a pint can of
it.  They use it as loose crystals.

If the box is sealed properly, there will only be the existing moisture, and
nothing added.  A bit of dessicant ought to absorb that and that will be the
end of it.  If the box isn't sealed, then...
