Colin lives just down the road from me and he had a good morning for sure. I ended up only on the bottom half of the band before running out of time and dawn. I monitored between 12:39 and 13:45 or so. The first thing I noticed was excellent reception of the Russian LW stations.....much stronger than usual. My highlight is Guam on 801, though at 13:36. That one's a first for me. Thanks to Patrick Martin for confirming this one. The JJ stations were exceptionally strong today. Here's the list. 6 unless stated otherwise! 153 an 8 189 a 7 279 a 7....all 3 in // 558 585 594 JOAK at an 8 603 612 4QR at an 8, coming in early at 13:04. Great signal. Normally don't hear this one until later. 621 666 JOBK at 13:08 at a 7 675 a 7 around 13:08, not NHK1, but oriental. Not sure who. Didn't sound like Vietnam, but who knows! 702 several stations at 13:20. CC and NHK2 underneath. 2BL at 13:52, though. 720 a 6. Drifting transmitter. Initially 720.06 but drifting to 720.83 at 13:50. Weak audio too. I'm thinking this is probably North Korea 738 747 JOIB at a 9 with the strongest I've heard them this season. 756 a 7, ?KK 774 a 9 with JOUB and cochannel, I think 3L0 792 probably 4RN with music from around the world at 8 801 US Christian preacher at a strong 7 at 13:36. I checked Radio Rhema's audio stream. Not them. I wondered about Filipino stations, but Patrick tells me this is Guam. Wonderful! My first reception of this one, I think! 828 JOBB at a 9, but other stations also heard co-channel 846 855 927 963 1116 1242 1566 I did notice that my various antennae didn't seem to be overly directive this morning, compared to other mornings. Overall, very strong JJ, while others had their moments, but never had a chance to check the upper half of the band properly. Also, LW Russians were the strongest I've heard thus far this season. Good DX to you all!............Walt. _______________________________________________ IRCA mailing list [email protected] http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: [email protected]
