On the west coast, I'd say things were a mixed bag. I agree that the upper
band was not very productive, although I usually start at the bottom and work
up, so perhaps I miss the dawn enhancement by the time I'm up there. The
Russian LW were really good today (I monitored from 12:42 to 13:54) with audio
well heard on 143, 180, 189, 234 and 279. Also presumed Mongolia with weak
audio on 209. Almost armchair copy of 3YA in New Zealand on 675 // to their
internet feed (which is behind by about 30 seconds). Again heard the preacher
on 801 from KTWG in Guam. Thanks for IDing that one, Patrick! The JJ were
there, but not particularly strong. Same goes for the CC and KK, although I
believe I heard several North Koreans. Here's my list, with 6 unless otherwise
stated and comments attached if necessary:

153 RR LW at an 8, // to all the others (180-7, 189-6, 234 a surprising 9, 279-
8+)
209 presumed Mongolia at a 6 only. 164 was a 4. At 12:42
531 EZL music at 12:51 at a 7
567 JOIK 6
594 JOAK 7
612
621 buzzy transmitter with weak audio, presumably N. Korea
657 prob N. Korea. seems // to 3320
675 weak audio at 13:08, maybe Vietnam. Recheck at 13:26 with 3YA which really
improved past 13:30 up to an 8.
720 weak audio on 719.93, perhaps N. Korea?
738
747 JOIB at an 8, with S7 to S8 on the meter.
765 EZL music, sounds CC at a 7. Looked for // and wasn't able to find any
(for China or N. Korea)
774 JOUB S7 at 13:22. An 8 by our scale.
783 Oriental music at a 7
792 a 7
801 KTWG at a 7 with same preacher heard during the last week, but not as
strong.
828 2 audios here. JOBB on the west loop and 3GI on the south loop, both 8s.
846
855 Buzzy, but sounds Filipino at 13:43 (Filipino stations to my ear, have a
distinctive intonation...don't know how to describe it....speech sounds very
musical, almost child-like to me....very animated)
936
954
963 CRI Russian at 13:47 at a 7 to 8
1017 weak audio at 13:47
1116
1287 presumed JJ

That's my haul for the morning. Have a great day!...........Walt in Victoria.
