Heard here last night, Faroe Islands and Switzerland 2 possiblilities with the former being most likely.
Quick check-in from Masset, QCI DXpedition #1. TAs everywhere last night with great audio on many many frequencies. My first night here listening (15 Sept) was fabulous with 1215 owned by Spain with Virgin way under. This was late, so I missed the best, and only had a basic mini-Beverage aimed due N/S. 16th was terrible with only 3 audios including Virgin on 1215. Last night was, the put it mildly, was nothing short of spectacular with probably easily 30 or 40 audios. 1215 again was dominated by Spain. Bruce Portzer is preparing a report now that I'll copy and paste shortly. Dial-up connection here, so things will have to be very basic for a while! Cheers from the QCI antenna farm (we're up to 5 now, and are preparing a 6th which will be a Greenland aimed Beverage! Others are: Broadband corner fed loop aimed 40/220 degrees (I flip the sides each night), BOG to Asia (hot!), BOG at 40/220 degrees (just replaced after inadvertently having it at 80/260), N/S Mini Beverage, and just completing a Wellbrook phased array for 30/210 degrees. This has been great so far. Chuck Hutton, Bruce Portzer and yours truly are here now, while John Bryant and Guy Atkins arrive tonight.........Walt Salmaniw, Masset, BC ----- Original Message ----- From: Nick Hall-Patch <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: Sunday, September 16, 2007 9:52 pm Subject: [IRCA] 1215 SAH To: Neil Kazaross <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, Mailing list for the International Radio Club of America <[email protected]> > At 03:39 17/09/2007, you wrote: > >Nicely done but time in 0328 and if you have a 2 to 3 Khz SAH > look for Spain > >as they are at least as good here as Virgin even on northerly > antennas that > >would favor UK over Northern Spain... 73 KAZ Grafton > WI/Barrington IL > > > There is a SAH on it, about 3 Hz low from Virgin R (you wouldn't > know > what ....and it gets more interesting with Spectran, as there > are a > couple of others closer. > > best wishes, > > Nick ----- Original Message ----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Date: Sunday, September 16, 2007 9:47 pm Subject: Re: [IRCA] TA's on the West Coast - Sept 17th (UTC) To: Mailing list for the International Radio Club of America <[email protected]> > > 531 is just wispy music, near > > imaginary....Switzerland will have to wait for another day... > > > > I had a carrier on 531 after 0300 and was wondering where > it might have been... > > Nick - have you heard anything on 567khz? > It has been one of the steadiest signals > all evening - on a par with 1215khz > > > -- > Colin Newell - Editor/Creator - CoffeeCrew.Com | DXer.CA > > _______________________________________________ > IRCA mailing list > [email protected] > http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca > > Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of > the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the > opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers > > For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org > > To Post a message: [email protected] > > _______________________________________________ IRCA mailing list [email protected] http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: [email protected]
