Bob, After the guys in the Queen Charlottes logged Sao Tome 1530, I don't think a move to Guam is needed. I could move to somewhere like Sitka AK and probably get the same DX. It is on an island off the coast of SE Alaska, farther North than the Queen Charlottes. So far no mention of HD hash from the group there. Yes, the directional array is the future, but everyone does not have the room for them. The Welbrook arrys need 40 Meters of separation. I could probably do it, but barely. Right now I am phasing the WNW EWE against the SW EWE and getting a great lobe to the NW, but I am stuck to DX in that direction. Moving the lobe further South, like to the SW, I get more HD hash from Northern CA stations at night. Off the Eastern beverage, the 1100-1200 hash is pretty bad as I am getting it from 1100-OH, 1110-NE, 1129-MO, 1160-UT, and 1190-OR, oh yes 1200-TX. Not enough on some to wreak the adjacent, but enough to wipe out weak signals. I may not hear the station causing the hash, but their hash still gets through, like in the case of KMOX.
