Hi, Patrick. Up here in Masset, conditions were slow to start around 12:00,
but improved markedly during the morning. Last night the TAs were
non-existent. Just for fun I started monitoring well before sunset for middle
eastern hets, and sure enough all the ones I heard corresponded to high power
Iranian/Saudi/etc transmitters. Never developed into anything, though. The
evening was bad with just 1215 and 1377 giving audio. Lots of hets, though.
This morning was a marvellous morning for Koreans (esp N. Korea), Vietnam, and
Japan. China was so-so. Also a few DU stations heard well. The 3 remaining
dxers (Bryant, Atkins and myself) were therefore still very pleased. Today, we
dismantled all the antennae save our favourite, the mini-N/S Beverage and the
longer NW Beverage. The guys leave at 07:00 local tomorrow morning, so
there'll be one more evening, and then a quick morning listen. I'll be leaving
the next morning. I'll be looking forward to a full report, but t!
his might take a few months owing to the huge number of audio and RF files to
demodulate. Here's hoping for one or two more good evenings and
mornings!...........Walt.
