Bruce is right, Colin.  I've heard both Nome and SQM with aviation weather 
broadcast loops.  Listen for the beginning of the loop...that's the airport 
closest to the location of the beacon.  Also, if nothing is available, they'll 
have a loop stating so and giving a 1-800 number and UTC time for return to air 
of weather data broadcasts.  Another sub-part of our hobby.  Up here in Masset, 
I've heard perhaps 10 or 15 of these voice beacon stations.........Walt.
