My early run up the dial was very encouraging.... at least the first half of it. Many of the usual low band JJs were in at better than normal levels and 675 Vietnam was booming in again (they just must have invested in new tx + antennas about a year ago.) I even had the low power STV repeater, JOVX on 909... rather unusual. However, when I got above there, things got very poor. I don't know if the conditions suddenly changed about 1320 or whether what I was hearing was a low band early opening.
When I came up the dial again at max dawn, 1400-1425, things were very poor. Almost everything that I had heard earlier was either much weaker or gone completely! I did note that both 612 and the much rarer 1548 were both DUs at threshold+ levels late in the opening. Odd morning.... hope that it doesn't mark a downturn in the conditions.
