Fellas, what a different a few hundred miles make! Yes the weather here last night and into this morning was pretty awful....storm force winds and heavy (I forgot how heavy they can be on the exposed west coast) rains. Despite this, this morning's conditions were superb to Australia. I've noticed a few things while here in Tofino. First, conditions don't pick up until after 13:00, peaking around 14:00 to 14:30. There's little point in waking up too early. I set my alarm for 12:40,but even this is probably too early. There was little or no CC or RR activity except for the LW band. 153, 171, 180, 189 and 279 were all in with audio, with 279 rating a 9, and 153 and 189 8s. The others were 7s. 531 was strong with 2 English speakers at 14:12. I playing C&W music dominated, while there was another Aussie with talk in the background. Other audios: 558 567 576 (2RN Sydney) 585 pres 7RN Hobart // to Sydney 594 NHK1 earlier, then DU strong at 14:21 ?3MV 612 4QD....really didn't put out that well today 621 3RN 639 had a DU plus another music station 684 EE at 14:35 coch Asian 693 NHK at 14:36 702 2BL Sydney at 14:37 with a 9 signal 738 2NR 774 Aussie very strong playing "See ya later alligator" at 13:45. NHK2 would occasionally pop up and then rapidly fade away. 792 4RN very strong also at 13:45 828 NHK2 initially, then DU at 14:47 891 English at 14:49 ?4TAB 1053 JOAR at 14:53 1098 ?Filipino at 14:54, then big OC at 15:10 end of Part 1. I'll email Part 2 shortly.......Walt in Tofino, BC.
