This is a little late, BUT AM740, CHWO in Toronto has been playing the original radio show "War of the Worlds" from 1937, with Orson Wells as the star. Very interesting. I know that it scared a lot of people in 1937. With all the things going on at that time, with the great possibility of war with Japan and the rhetoric that Roosevelt was doing in egging Japan into war, it was a scary time. A copy of that time will be found in the news items of today, with Bush and Iran.
BTW, in the radio show, it was said that large explosions had been seen on Mars by American and Canadian astronomers. If you check back in history, to the 30's, there were reported seen explosions of some type on Mars. I wonder what would happen if the media presented the type of show, as fact, today? Thanks to CHWO, for their excellent programming choices.
