John, the differences this year are less than last season between your setup and mine. This year, my workhorse antenna has been my West facing broadband corner fed loop, with the vertical segments being close to 50'....not too shabby. Not quite in your league, but not too different, I think. Still, you always outperform me for the Asians, and I outperform you with my DU signals. Earlier in the season, my South (actually SW facing) corner fed loop performed admirably for DU with loads of signals. This antenna has not been a good performer for the past few weeks. Even when I have a decent DU morning, the W loop still acquires more signal. A lot of this has to do with more domestic splatter from the S loop compared to the W loop, which makes sense. I have to think that it's your direct line of sight of Asia with an all-water path, compared to my Vancouver Island blocked Asia path that's responsible for your superior results........Walt. _______________________________________________ IRCA mailing list [email protected] http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: [email protected]
