Finally got to look at the propagation monitor records for last night, and although this morning's sunrise enhancement wasn't, there were actually quite good signal levels overnight, comparable to other nights in the past week. This was in contrast to November 3rd when signal levels were suppressed overnight as well.
So the big "cloud of absorption" waited until people got out of bed on the west coast.
