My off-the-cuff answer is yes. Although I am in
Michigan, I'm only about 240 miles from Toronto. The
polar opposite (there's a specific name for this term)
of Michigan lies in the Indian Ocean to the west of
Australia. Since New Zealand is considerably to the
east of there, I can easily see a path of darkness if
it just before sunrise in Toronto and just after
sunset in New Zealand.
