Colin and Dennis,

Yes, I know all about the super-sensitive SRF-59's requirement for a
super-sensitive thumb! In the review, I mentioned that quite a few users may
give the tuner a "thumbs down," hi. I remember one day of super noontime
conditions, when I was trying to split off KNRO-1670 from semi-local
KDOW-1680.
Super-fringe KNRO-1670 (440 miles?) certainly was there, but it took me about
4 attempts before I could get the tuner right on frequency. The lower end
of the dial is not nearly so touchy!

Anyway, Dennis' reception of JOUB-774 may change everything. If the
9-kHz split capable SRF-M37V has sensitivity equal to the SRF-59, it may be
the
winner by default, by avoiding the tuning issue completely... unless the
SRF-59 is significantly more selective (as Colin believes). I guess we'll
find
out!

  73, Gary .
