XEVOZ is all talk, its news being traffic reports, interspersed with
commercials. Each minute, at :60, it gives a time check and slogan ID, with two
beeps on an automobile horn before and after.

Subject: [IRCA] Unid help - SS with chimes on 1590 - XEVOZ?

  Hi all:

Prowling underneath 5kw KLFE a couple miles away on 1590, I managed to
hear a Spanish news/talk with frequent chimes, sounding like they are
being played on a small xylophone. The note progression is "C-G-C", just
like the first three notes in Also Sprach Zarathustra (the theme to the
movie 2001 - A Space Odyssey), only much quicker.

I suspect it may be from south of the border, maybe XEVOZ. Any
  familiarity out there with this?

  Thanks - Kevin S
