Very sorry to read of the severe damage around Astoria and Seaside. Of
all the ocean side areas we visited last summer (including Ocean Shores,
Westport, Grayland, Aberdeen and Long Beach), Astoria and Seaside were the
most
impressive for beauty.
Nasty winter storms are common here in Puget Sound, too, but the worst
wind we had within the last 15 years was only about 100 mph in Puyallup, on
several different occasions. Those nasty storms always come up from Oregon,
by the way (hi).
