Most e-lists are geared to accept plain text. Rich Text is used in some
word processing apps but it introduces some additional features which
not all e-list software works well with and also not all email software
works well with either. The name pretty much tells you that it is an
enhanced text format. Similarly, many e-lists don't use html either. 

When you send email from one PC to another, you may not see the
bunching unless the receiving email software also isn't compatible with
Rich Text.

So for e-lists, your default should be plain text.
