Colin and Others,
When Kevin suggested the "Ultralight" name (after concurrence from Paul
Walker and others), I felt it sounded great, but was concerned it might be
confused with cigarettes, aircraft, or something else. I really like the
name, and it has caught on very deeply, making it quite probably a term that
will
sweep the AM-DX community. However, in formal references (like the Shootout
Reviews), there should always be a "Radio" after the "Ultralight," to avoid
confusion, I think.
To make matters more interesting, Sony has come up with the incredible
SRF-T615, and Sangean has developed the DT-180V, both of which are the size
of a cigarette lighter. Consequently, I am already hearing these super-small
pocket radios referred to as "Ultralighters," hi.
73, Gary
