All this discussion of small portables reminded me of a radio I used in the late 50's. It was a GE tube-type portable with an orange plastic case. I've looked around, and the only GE tube portable that showed up was a Model 250, which this was not. This used either a 67.5 or 90v battery and had the miniature tube type, not loctals. Anyone have any lists of GE portables? It would be really interesting to dig one of these up and see how it does compared to current designs. I do remember bringing it along on a school field trip, but all I got was the whining noise from the bus generator which really annoyed everyone.
