Guys and guys... Im fiddling around with my SRF-59 tonight to see what I can get.
Well, so far, the dominant station on 960 is WFIR Roanoke, Virginia. I confirmed it via their website, as I was hearing Michael Savage (he has an unmistakeable voice).. and WFIR's website confirms he's on. Anyways, I tuned the SRF-59 dial a tad bit to the right... I wasn't quite on 960 anymore but I don't know if I was on 970 either as I didn't really hear anything but a bunch of static. I know where my "marker" stations are, 870 WWL and 1020 KDKA. I heard a few short and long bursts of morse code at 9:47pm.. then a pause and a short burst of sweeptones and another few short bursts of code at 9:50 pm then a few quick bursts at 9:52 I know it was NOT Radio Reloj as I VERY faintly heard the tick tick tick elsewhere.. but this was unmistakebly the same kind of Morse Code and Sweeptone type stuff the Broadcast Test Committee supplies to stations. Was I hearing 960 CFFX< but because I was slightly off frequency, tuned to the right of 960khz, only the sweep tones and code made it through.. or am I off my rocker and losing my mind? -- Sincerely, Paul B.
